Holocaust Memorial Day, April 8, 2013 / Yom Hashoah 5773

The following post is not one I am proud to post. Rather, it is an attempt to expose one of the most insidious, diabolical plans ever formed in the minds of people who believed they were doing Gods work. I believe these plans were birthed in the character of satan, and it is he who influenced a generation of hatred.
This is not about taking shots at any one religion, or any one system. Rather is it submitted for your consideration, It does not make for pleasant reading. But it is a historical fact that must be confronted with honesty, remorse and some form of vicarious repentance.
Knowledge of this history of antisemitism within the Catholic/Christian churches is indispensable for any full understanding of the Holocaust. The crimes that were committed by the Nazi regime did not begin in the 1940’s – but the seeds were sown long before Hitler was ever conceived.
I tried to include the sited references when possible. These religious men have influenced churches, wrote doctrine, taught in our seminary’s, and many college classes on religion. Building up the wall between the Jew and gentile is what the adversary does best.
The quotes can be verified through any search engine, library, or church/historic writings. Many of these names you will know, some you may not – this is not an exhaustive list by any means, but only a very small portion of some of the more well known names throughout history.

Adonai, my strength, my fortress,
my refuge in time of trouble,
the nations will come to you
from the ends of the earth, saying,
“Our ancestors inherited nothing but lies,
futile idols, completely useless.”
Can a person make himself gods?
(In fact they aren’t gods at all) Jeremiah 16:19-20

Ignatius Bishop of Antioch (98-117A.D.) – Epistle to the Magnesians
Saint_Ignatius_of_Antioch For if we are still practicing Judaism, we admit that we have not received God’s favor…it is wrong to talk about Jesus Christ and live like Jews. For Christianity did not believe in Judaism, but Judaism in Christianity.

“Epistle of Barnabas” (between 130A.D. and 138 A.D.) barnabas
Take heed to yourselves and be not like some piling up you sins and saying that the covenant is theirs as well as ours. It is ours, but they lost it completely just after Moses received it.

Justin Martyr – Dialogue with Trypho (Between 138A.D. and 161 A.D.)

**He was one of the earliest apologist of the church**
We too, would observe your circumcision of the flesh, your Sabbath days, and in a word, all you festivals, if we were not aware of the reason why they were imposed upon you, namely, because of your sins and the hardness of heart. The custom of circumcising the flesh, handed down from Abraham, was given to you as a distinguishing mark, to set you off from other nations and from us Christians. The purpose of this was that you and only you might suffer the afflictions that are now justly yours; that only your land be desolated, and you cities ruined by fire, that the fruits of you land be eaten by strangers before your very eyes; that not one of you be permitted to enter your city of Jerusalem. Your circumcision of the flesh is the only mark by which you can certainly be distinguished from other men…as I stated before it was by reason of your sins and the sins of your fathers that, among other precepts, God imposed upon you the observance of the sabbath as a mark.

Origen of Alexandria (185-254 A.D.) – A ecclesiastical writer and teacher who contributed to the early formation of Christian doctrines. Origen
We may thus assert in utter confidence that the Jews will not return to their earlier situation, for they have committed the most abominable of crimes, in forming this conspiracy against the Savior of the human race…hence the city where Jesus suffered was necessarily destroyed, the Jewish nation was driven from its country, and another people was called by God to the blessed election.

Saint Jerome (ca. 342-420 CE)

Saint Jerome was responsible for translating the Bible from Greek and Hebrew into Latin. The resulting Vulgate Bible is still to this day the official biblical text of the Catholic Church. A Christian intellectual and vigorous defender of the orthodox views of the then nascent Catholic Church, Jerome wrote voluminously on subjects of theological importance. Throughout his life, Jerome wrote spirited polemics against Jews and their religious practices. Such as follows:

The Jews seek nothing but to have children, possess riches and be healthy. They seek all earthly things, but think nothing of heavenly things; for this reason they are mercenaries. Holding fast to their ancient anger and violence, still today under the name of Nazarenes, the Jews in their synagogues blaspheme the Christian flock: and while they slay us, they will their own destruction in the eternal fire.”

“If it is expedient to hate any men and to loathe any race I have a strange dislike for those of the circumcision. For up to the present day, they persecute our Lord Jesus Christ in the synagogues of Satan.”…..”A fornicatress is a woman who has had intercourse with several men. An adulteress, one who, deserting her true spouse, joins herself to another. The Synagogue is both of these, and if she continues in fornication and adultery, God will strip off her clothes and remove the ornaments which He gave her.”

John Chrysostom (344-407 A.D.)

One of the “greatest” of church fathers; known as “The Golden Mouthed.” A missionary preacher famous for his sermons and addresses.***THIS MAN WROTE DOCTRINE FOR THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH**
Chrysostom is considered to be among the most beloved and admired in Catholic Church history. Besides his proclamation of Jews as ‘god-less, idolaters, pedicides, stoners of prophets (Matthew 23:37-38), and committers of 10,000 horrors. Chrysostom declared the following in his work Orations Against The Jews:

The Jews are the most worthless of all men. They are lecherous, rapacious, greedy. They are perfidious murderers of Christ. They worship the Devil. Their religion is a sickness. The Jews are the odious assassins of Christ and for killing God there is no expiation possible, no indulgence or pardon. Christians may never cease vengeance, and the Jew must live in servitude forever. God always hated the Jews. It is essential that all Christians hate them’ (year 379). Furthermore: ‘The Jews sacrifice their children to Satan. They are worse than wild beasts. The Synagogue is a brothel, a den of scoundrels, the temple of demons devoted to idolatrous cults, a criminal assembly of Jews, a place of meeting for the assassins of Christ, a house of ill fame, a dwelling of iniquity, a gulf and abyss of perdition. The Jews have fallen into a condition lower than the vilest animal. Debauchery and drunkenness have brought them to a level of the lusty goat and the pig. They know only one thing: to satisfy their stomachs, to get drunk, to kill, and beat each other up like stage villains and coachmen. The Synagogue is a curse, obstinate in her error, she refuses to see or hear, she has deliberately perverted her judgment; she has extinguished with herself the light of the Holy Spirit.’ He elaborated further on God’s punishment of the Jews: ‘But it was men, says the Jew, who brought these misfortunes upon us, not God. On the contrary, it was in fact God who brought them about. If you attribute them to men, reflect again that even supposing men had dared, they could not have had the power to accomplish them, unless it had been God’s will. Men would certainly not have made war unless God had permitted them. Is it not obvious that it was because God hated you [Jews] and rejected you once for all?”

On yet another occasion Chrysostom is quoted as saying; “I hate the Jews because they violate the Law. I hate the synagogue because it has the Law and the prophets. It is the duty of all Christians to hate the Jews.” Chrysostom’s homilies were used in seminaries and schools for centuries as model sermons, ensuring his message of hate would be passed down to succeeding generations of theologians.

St. Augustine of Hippo (c. 354-430 A.D.),One of the most important Christian philosophers of ancient world St_augustine_of_Hippo
How hateful to me are the enemies of your Scripture! How I wish that you would slay them (the Jews) with your two-edged sword, so that there should be none to oppose your word! Gladly would I have them die to themselves and live to you!
The City of God, Confessions, 12.14 Augustine managed to touch on several themes central to Christian anti-Judaism: decide, the failure of Jewish belief in Jesus, and the Diaspora caused by God for Jewish impiety. “The true image of the Hebrew is Judas Iscariot, who sells the Lord for silver. The Jews can never understand the scriptures, and forever bear the guilt of the death of Christ.”

The Crusades – The Middle Ages

In medieval society, the close link between Church and State meant that the seeds of Christian anti-Semitism, already sown, yielded terrible fruits.

The Crusades
The year 1096 ushered in a period of viciously cruel harassment unique in Jewish history in terms of duration:
Great, ill-organized hordes of nobles, knights, monks, and peasants — ‘God wills it’ on their lips as they set off to free the Holy Land from the Muslim infidel — suddenly turned on the Jews One chronicler, Guibert of Nogent (1053-1124), reported the crusaders of Rouen as saying: ‘We desire to combat the enemies of God in the East; but we have under our eyes the Jews, a race more inimical to God than all the others. We are doing this whole thing backwards.

Approximately a quarter to one-third of the entire Jewish population in Germany and northern France was murdered during the First Crusade.

In Jerusalem the Jews fled from the Crusaders, locking themselves in the main synagogue, where all 969 were burnt to death. Outside, the Crusaders, who believed they were avenging the death of Christ, sang, Christ, We Adore Thee, holding their Crusader crosses aloft. Earlier that day, as the Crusaders ran over the mutilated bodies of those slaughtered, one leader, Raymond of Aguilers, quoted Psalm 118:24: ‘This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.’ The Crusaders intended to make Jerusalem a Christian city….

There is so much more I could have added pertaining to this time period. The crusades were some of the most deplorable acts ever committed against Jews. Many books have been written about this topic.

Martin Luther – 1543 The “Great” Reformer, founder of the Luthern Church Luther
But your [God’s] judgment is right, Yes, so shall Jews, but no one else be punished, who held your word and miracles in contempt and ridiculed, insulted and damned it for such a long time without interruption, so that they will not fall, like other humans, heathens and all the others, into sin and death, not up in Hell, nor in the middle of Hell but in the pit of Hell, as one cannot fall deeper…
Even if they were punished in the most gruesome manner that the streets ran with their blood, that their dead would be counted, not in the hundred thousands, but in the millions, as happened under Vespasian in Jerusalem and for evil under Hadrian, still they must insist on being right even if after these 1,500 years they were in misery another 1,500 years, still God must be a liar and they must be correct. In sum, they are the devil’s children, damned to Hell…
The Jews too got what they deserved. They had been called and elected to be God’s mouth as Jeremiah says…Open your mouth wide and I will fill it; they however, kept tightly closed their muzzles, eyes, ears, nose, whole heart and all senses, so he polluted and squirted them so full that it oozes from them in all places and devil’s filth comes from them.
Yes, that tastes good to them, into their hearts, they smack their lips like swine. That is how they want it. Call more: ‘Crucify him, crucify him.’ Scream more: ‘His blood come upon us and our children.’ I mean it came and found you…
Perhaps, one of the merciful Saints among us Christians may think I am behaving too crude and disdainfully against the poor, miserable Jews in that I deal with them so sarcastically and insulting. But, good God, I am much too mild in insulting such devils…
On the Jews and Their Lies, 1543

Several months after publishing On the Jews and Their Lies, Luther wrote Vom Schem Hamphoras und vom Geschlecht Christi (Of the Unknowable Name and the Generations of Christ)’, in which he equated Jews with the Devil:
“Here in Wittenburg, in our parish church, there is a sow carved into the stone under which lie young pigs and Jews who are sucking; behind the sow stands a rabbi who is lifting up the right leg of the sow, raises behind the sow, bows down and looks with great effort into the Talmud under the sow, as if he wanted to read and see something most difficult and exceptional; no doubt they gained their Shem Hamphoras from that place.”

A first edition of On the Jews and their Lies (Luther) was presented to Nazi General to Julius Streicher, on his birthday in 1937 .The city of Nuremberg presented the newspaper described Luther’s writting (The Jews and their Lies)  as the most radically antisemitic tract ever published,It was publicly exhibited in a glass case at the Nuremberg rallies and quoted in a 54-page explanation of the Aryan Law by Dr. E.H. Schulz and Dr. R. Frercks. On December 17, 1941, seven Lutheran regional church confederations issued a statement agreeing with the policy of forcing Jews to wear the yellow badge, “since after his bitter experience Luther had [strongly] suggested preventive measures against the Jews and their expulsion from German territory.” Luther wrote of the Jews as if they were a race that could not truly convert to Christianity. Indeed, like so many Christian writers before him, Luther, by making the Jews the devil’s people, put them beyond conversion. Noted that in a sermon of September 25, 1539, “Luther tried to demonstrate through several examples that individual Jews could not convert permanently, and in several passages of The Jews and Their Lies, Luther appeared to reject the possibility that the Jews would or could convert.” Franklin Sherman, editor of volume 47 of the American Edition of Luther’s Works in which On the Jews and Their Lies appears, responds to the claim that “Luther’s antipathy towards the Jews was religious rather than racial in nature,” Luther’s writings against the Jews, he explains, are not “merely a set of cool, calm and collected theological judgments. His writings are full of rage, and indeed hatred, against an identifiable human group, not just against a religious point of view; it is against that group that his action proposals are directed.” Sherman argues that Luther “cannot be distanced completely from modern antisemites”. Regarding Luther’s treatise, On the Jews and Their Lies, the German philosopher Karl Jaspers wrote: “There you already have the whole Nazi program”

John Calvin (July 1509 May 1564)
A Response To Questions and Objections of a Certain Jew
Their [the Jews] rotten and unbending stiffneckedness deserves that they be oppressed unendingly and without measure or end and that they die in their misery without the pity of anyone.
Excerpt from “Ad Quaelstiones et Objecta Juaei Cuiusdam Responsio,” by John Calvin; The Jew in Christian Theology, Gerhard Falk, McFarland and Company, Inc., Jefferson, NC and London, 1931.

Johann Eck November 1486 – February 1543

Johann Eck was a German Scholastic theologian and defender of Catholicism during the Protestant Reformation.- In his writing he convinced thousands of his members that Jews were responsible for killing Christian children and drinking their blood for their Purim Festivals, desecrating the eucharistic, and poisoning wells.

Adam Clarke (1760 or 1762 – 1832)
A British Methodist theologian and Biblical scholar. He is chiefly remembered for writing a commentary on the Bible which took him 40 years to complete and which was a primary Methodist theological resource for two centuries.
Contained in 6 volumes, consisting of nearly 1,000 pages each, it was considered the most comprehensive commentary on the Bible ever prepared by one man. His commentary, particularly that on Revelation, identified the Catholic Church with the antichrist and bordered on antisemitic, as illustrated by the following quote:
“The Jewish philosophy, such as is found the Cabala, Midrashim, and other works, deserves the character of vain deceit, in the fullest sense and meaning of the words. The inspired writers excepted, the Jews have ever been the most puerile, absurd, and ridiculous reasoners in the world. Even Rabbi Maimon or Maimonides, the most intelligent of them all, is often, in his master-piece, the Moreh Neochim, the teacher of the perplexed, most deplorably empty and vain.” A.C. 1831 VI p. 486

The term “perfidious Jews” (meaning guilty, faithless) is a term used in the Good Friday prayer by the Catholic church up to 1959, Catholic historian Warren H. Carroll asserts:
The word “perfidious” in the old Good Friday liturgy referred to the rejection of God’s Son the Messiah by the Jews who called for his crucifixion. He had given them proofs of who He was, but they closed their eyes and ears to them. Though it may be counter-productive to make this point in today’s age, this willful blindness to the truth is spectacularly evidenced… They must have known or at least guessed the truth, and yet refused to believe. In any case, the expression “perfidious” cannot logically apply to Jews apart from the circumstances of the crucifixion, except under a theory of collective guilt..
In the form used before 1955 it ran like this:
Let us pray also for the faithless Jews: that Almighty God may remove the veil from their hearts 2 Corinthians 3:13-16; so that they too may acknowledge Jesus Christ our Lord. (‘Amen’ is not responded, nor is said ‘Let us pray’, or ‘Let us kneel’, or ‘Arise’, but immediately is said:) Almighty and eternal God, who dost not exclude from thy mercy even Jewish faithlessness: hear our prayers, which we offer for the blindness of that people; that acknowledging the light of thy Truth, which is Christ, they may be delivered from their darkness. Through the same our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amene

It should be noted that it In 1960 (or 1959 the date is hard to verify) Pope John XXIII had removed the term from the Good Friday prayer. During the 1960s, Pope John XXIII met with a delegation of Jews and said, “I am Joseph Your Brother” marking the beginning of a new relationship between Jews and Catholics. Inspired by the visit of Pope John Paul II to Israel in 2000, I am Joseph, Your Brother assesses and reflects on the changes that have occurred in the often difficult and turbulent relationship that has existed for centuries between Jews and Christians, Judaism and Catholicism, and more recently, between the State of Israel and the Vatican.

The point of this blog is to shed some light on this subject. We must know the damage that has been done to the Jewish people in the name of “Jesus” we have a mandate on our lives to provoke the Jews to Jealousy (Romans 11:11) does this history reflect that calling in any way? These facts are verifiable, I challenge you to do your own research, but understand this; don’t allow Google to form your theology. Allow the Holy Spirit, prayer, and study of the scriptures to be source of information. When searching anything on the internet, you will yield a harvest of information you use in your search queries. If you search for “evil Jews” or “evil Catholics” you will get sites based off of those words. I say this because I have seen more people search out the internet to do a study on a subject and walk away with a distorted list of “facts” and thereby form an incorrect biased based off of blogs or articles. Understand that the references I used are public record and when I came across them, I was not looking to discover what I found. Initially I wanted to know to who, when, and why was the Sabbath day changed. From there a landslide of information was discovered and to my horror, this was a part of that search.
In our observance of Holocaust, please be somber, be compassionate, be wise. Don’t be quick to offer your opinion of why you think these things happened. Just know this, the Holocaust did not begin Adolph Hitler.

Shabbat Shalom
For the last couple of weeks, I’ve felt as if I am doing 70 mph in second gear. I am not so much physically tired, it is more mental, it’s like there isn’t time to breath; let alone rest.
I love Shabbat, it is the one day of the week that I have permission to be still. To sit at the feet of Yeshua, and hide under the wing of the almighty. I listen to teachings, I read, I nap. It is sublime – and in this age, it is rare.
People today don’t rest, we are constantly on the go. The demands from the work force are unparalleled and frankly, unrealistic. People are constantly being told to do more with less. Insurance rates go up, gas goes up, the salary isn’t budging. If you have children, the feeling of failure is always there. Time to cook a nutritious meal, or help with homework is nonexistent. If you take a vacation, you spend so much time preparing, packing, and running to and fro, you need a vacation after your vacation! So when one does one rest?
The Father gave us a gift in the Sabbath. It is the fourth commandment, and if the Father places them in order of importance (which I believe He did) then the Sabbath is before murder, stealing, adultery! In fact, after He states who He is, and how we are to place Him in our life, the very first thing he tells us to do is rest – Rest in Him. Cease from your runnin gunnin, stop stressing yourself out over housework, meal planning, yard work, homework, sports, working, all of it – just stop it. For 24 hours, one time a week, just be still. What would that look like?
The Father has 7 appointed times (holidays) a year: Passover, unleavened bread, Shavuot (also called Pentacost) Yom Terruah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot (also called the Feast of Tabernacles) 7 appointed times that we, as His followers, are told to keep above any other appointments, or vacations. Before you say to yourself, “well those are Jewish holidays” let me remind you of the scripture(s) that declares “These are MY APPOINTED Feast” These are the FEAST OF THE LORD – and before you misquote Galatians about how Paul scolded the people for “observing times, months, years etc” he was NOT talking the appointed times of the Lord, He wasn’t. People have taken that passage among others, so far out of context for generations, and it grieves me to say, has been used to fuel antisemitic messages behind the pulpit of many of pastors. I have read Galatians, I have studied Galatians, I have studied background, and the history of the Galatians and the looked into and read on Colossians, though not as thoroughly as Galatians. It’s worth noting that the people of Galatia were gentiles. NOT JEWS. SO when Paul says “I fear for you for turning back to your former ways” they weren’t turning “back” to the customs of Passover, Yom Kippur etc.(how do you turn back to something you never did in the first place?) No, they were (turning back to) astrology, and other pagan observances. Which, when you study the background of the epistles of the audiences that Paul was writing to, you gain more perspective as to what is being said. Put scripture in context.

Sabbath is the only day that Yahweh actually calls by name, the other days were numbered. AND It is an appointed time. Every six days the Father clears His calendar and plans to spend it with you. All of you, no distractions. He calls this, “a sign between you and Him” Ex 31:13 also Isaiah 56 (In this chapter Yahweh also says that those who keep Shabbat, and hold fast to His covenant He will give you a name greater than sons and daughters. – I don’t know about you, but SIGN ME UP FOR THAT!!)
Nowhere in scripture will you read “on Monday the disciples and Yeshua went to….” or “On Wednesday Jonah decided to board a boat” – But you will find Sabbath. It is all over and throughout scripture. Yahweh talks about the sabbath over 170 times in scripture….heres a the kicker; 85 times ALONE the people (disciples/apostles) are keeping sabbath 85 times in the books of Acts. *SEE
Perhaps a very important you should ask: when did things change? Well, if you found this website, you are capable of researching it out, and if it is important to you, you will. But here’s a hint:

63 Biblical Reasons to Keep the 7th Day Sabbath
By Robert Roy

Last updated May 11, 2012

I remember kicking against the Saturday Sabbath. I remember spending hours combing through the scriptures, looking for passages that would justify its not being binding on me today. Sure it was established at creation. Sure, it was one of the 10 commandments. Sure, God said it would be a “perpetual” commandment, to be observed “forever.” But I remember finding an ambiguous passage here, or a theological rationalization there that would satisfy me for the moment — but that would then leave me thirsty, and unsatisfied, looking for more answers. In the back of my mind, I couldn’t help but think that I was just rationalizing my own disobedience — rather than objectively weighing the full weight of biblical testimony and witness.

If this has been your experience too, I invite you to put down your theological weapons, loosen your grip on your counter-arguments, and open up your heart to the possibility that the 4th commandment might be for today — that God may be holding out unknown pleasure, and blessings, and riches to you — and all you have to do is reach out and take hold.

Reason #1: God finished His work of creation and rested on the 7th day (Gen. 2:2-3, Ex. 31:17)
Reason #2: God uniquely blessed the 7th day (Gen. 2:3)
Reason #3: God made the 7th day “holy” — that is, “set apart” from all other days (Gen. 2:3, Ex. 31:14)
Reason #4: God rested from all his labors on the 7th day Sabbath (Gen. 2:2-3)
Reason #5: Man is made in God’s image, and since God rested on the 7th day, part of bearing God’s image means keeping the 7th day Sabbath (Gen. 1:26-27).
Reason #6: The Saturday Sabbath is one of the 10 commandments (Ex. 20:8-11, Deut. 5:12-15).
Reason #7: God says “above all” believers are to keep his Sabbaths (Ex 31:13)
Reason #8: God tells his people to keep the Saturday Sabbath so that they know that God is the one who sanctifies them — that is, sets them apart from all other people (Ex 31:13)
Reason #9: God tells his people to keep the Sabbath “throughout your generations.” (Ex. 31:13, 16)
Reason #10: The Saturday Sabbath is a sign or a mark of God’s authority over his people (Ex. 31:13, 17)
Reason #11: God tells his people to keep the Sabbath “forever.” (Ex. 31:16)
Reason #12: The 7th day, Saturday Sabbath is an eternal covenant (Ex. 31:16-17)
Reason #13: God’s people are told to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations (Ex. 31:16-17)
Reason #14: The Saturday Sabbath commandment was written with the finger of God (Ex. 31:18, Deut. 9:10).
Reason #15: God does not change his mind (Numbers 23:19)
Reason #16: God says that his commandments (including the Sabbath) are not too hard for us to do (Deut. 30:11)
Reason #17: God sent Israel into captivity for breaking the Sabbath (Nehemiah 13:17)
Reason #18: Those who observe the Saturday Sabbath will be given “a monument and a name better than sons and daughters” (Isa. 56:5)
Reason #19: God promises to specially bless those who keep the Saturday Sabbath (Isa. 56:2)
Reason #20: God promises to not cut off those who keep the Saturday Sabbath (Isa. 56:3-6)
Reason #21: God promises that he will bring those who keep the Saturday Sabbath to his Holy Mountain (Isa. 56:7)
Reason #22: God promises to make joyful those who keep the Saturday Sabbath (Isa. 56:7)
Reason #23: The Sabbath is intended to be a delight (Isaiah 58:13)
Reason #24: God promises that we will “find our joy in the LORD” when we keep the Saturday Sabbath (Isa. 58:13)
Reason #25: God promises that those who keep the Saturday Sabbath will “ride on the heights of the land” (Isa. 58:13)
Reason #26: God promises that those who keep the Saturday Sabbath will “feast on the inheritance of our father Jacob” (Isa. 58:13)
Reason #27: In the future, after the Final Judgment, the Sabbath will still be in effect (Isa. 66:22-23)
Reason #28: God uses the Sabbath as a time marker when referring to the New Heavens and New Earth, showing that the Sabbath will still be in effect in the world to come (Isaiah 66:23)
Reason #29: Forgetting the Saturday Sabbath is a punishment (Lamentations 2:6)
Reason #30: The Lord gave the Sabbath as a sign or a mark between Him and His people (Ezekiel- 20:12-24)

Reason #36: God does not change (Malachi 3:6)
Reason #37: Jesus did not come to abolish even the least of God’s commandments (Matt. 5:17-19)
Reason #38: Nothing will pass from the Torah until ALL is accomplished (Matt. 5:18)
Reason #39: Those who break the Saturday Sabbath will be called “least” in the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:19)
Reason #40: Those who teach others to break the Sabbath will be called “least” in the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:19)
Reason #41: Those who keep the Saturday Sabbath (along with God’s other commandments) will be called “great” in the kingdom of heaven. (Matt. 5:19)
Reason #42: Those who teach others to keep the Saturday sabbath will be called “great” in the kingdom of heaven. (Matt. 5:19)
Reason #43: Jesus will say he does not know those who practice lawlessness (Matt. 7:23)
Reason #44: Jesus taught his disciples how to properly keep the 7th day Sabbath, with the expectation that his followers would keep it as he did (Matt. 12:10-12, Mark 2:27-28, 3:2-4, Luke 6:1-11)
Reason #45: Jesus told his disciples to pray that they wouldn’t have to flee on the Sabbath (Matt. 24:20)

Reason #54: Paul kept the Saturday Sabbath every week (Acts 18:4)
Reason #55: Paul taught his churches to uphold the Law/Torah of God (Romans 3:31)
Reason #56: Jesus kept the Saturday Sabbath, and Paul was an imitator of Jesus, teaching others to imitate both himself and Jesus (1 Cor. 11:1)
Reason #57: Paul taught others to imitate himself (1 Cor. 11:1), and Paul kept the 7th day Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 16:13; 17:2)
Reason #58: All scripture is profitable for reproof, correction, and training in righteousness — and “all scripture” would include the 7th day Sabbath (2 Tim. 3:16)
Reason #59: The Author of Hebrews says, “There remains, then, a Sabbath-keeping for the people of God” (Heb.4:9).
Reason #60: We are to “walk as [Jesus] walked,” and Yeshua kept the Saturday Sabbath (1 John 2:6)
Reason #61: We are told that love for God = obeying his commandments (1 John 5:3).
Reason #62: God’s commandments are not supposed to be burdensome (1 John5:3).
Reason #63: The Book of Revelation praises those living in the end-times who keep God’s commandments — which would include the 7th day Sabbath (Rev. 12:17)

Galatians 5:1 – Is the Law of God “Bondage” or “Freedom?”

even WIllie gets it

I post this because I want to challenge the body of Christ by asking you a question and my question to you is this:

DO YOU see our Heavenly Father putting His redeemed people under bondage of the “Law” or “Torah” If you say yes to this – then don’t read any further. But if you don’t know, or have questions, then pray about this, and ask the Father to show you truth. NOT MY truth, but His truth. This isn’t my opinion, and in order to establish that fact, let us agree that we must allow scripture to interpret scripture.

Would God have given us “bondage” and then stated that if we obey it we are blessed, and if we disobey it, we fall under the curse (second death) (Deut. 11:26-29)?

Do we find any verse in all of Scripture that says the Law of God is bondage? Nope – in fact, we find the opposite.

Ps 19: The Torah of Adonai of perfect, restoring the inner person. THe instruction of Adonai is sure, making wise the thoughtless. THe precepts of Adonai are right, rejoicing the heart. The Mitzvot (commandments) of Adonai is pure, enlightening the eyes. The rulings of Adonai are true, they are righteousness altogether. (they are) more desirable than gold, than much fine gold, also sweeter than honey or drippings from the honeycomb. Through them your servant is warned, in obeying them there is great reward.

Ps 119:44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

Ps 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

Ps 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

Ja 1:25 But whosoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continue therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Ja 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. If the Law of God is called freedom, how can we also call it bondage?

Good question. For those who wish to avoid clear contradiction in their doctrine and theology, it is simply impossible.

What does Paul define as bondage in Galatians? Paul states that false teachers brought bondage…

Ga 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

…by teaching “elements of the world”…

Ga 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

…and justification through the Law of God…

Ga 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

…instead of simply obedience to the Law of God…

Ga 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

…and thus these false teachers bring us away from true liberty/freedom…

Ga 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

…which is found in the “law of God.”

Ja 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Therefore false teachers are those who do not keep the Law of God (for obedience) and teach against it. Instead, the Galatians were being falsely taught to keep God’s Law for salvation.

False teachers (Circumcision Party – Ga 2:7-12; 5:12 and Works of Law – Ga 2:16;3:2;3:5;3:10) began promoting their doctrine (“oral law”) which required Gentiles to be circumcised in a certain way to be justified for salvation (saved).

Ga 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

This theme continues throughout Galatians (i.e. Ga 2:21; 3:2; 3:3; 3:5; 3:11; 5:4)

“Works of Law”

Qumran document 4QMMT (4Q394-5) gives us some insight into a Jewish sect in the first century called “Works of Law”. The Jewish Works of Law believed many things that were contrary to God’s Law and also taught that Gentiles could not be saved. They were not living God’s Law in faith but were living their own invented law-which was a twisted form of God’s Law and a similar practice of the 6 sects of the Pharisees. Their doctrine was very similar to those of the “Circumcision Party. This would be why Galatians 6:13 states that this group that is supposedly teaching God’s Law for salvation but does not even keep God’s Law themselves

Circumcision Party

The Jewish sect of the Circumcision Party appears in Acts 10:45;11:2; 15; Ga 2:7-12 Ga 5:12; Eph. 2:11; Titus 1:10.

Knowing this clarifies the following verse:
Ga 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”

The bondage that entangled the Galatians was the false teachings and beliefs of men. It should be noted that Paul uses the word “again.” If the “bondage” was the Law of God then how would converted Gentiles be brought back into the supposed “bondage” of the Law of God when they never kept the Law of God to begin with? They can’t. If we read the context, we should understand that these are false teachers who teach against the Law of God with their own traditions and teachings. Some things do not change with time because we as a society do the very same things today.

Remember, Y’shua (Jesus) taught the exact same thing against these exact same false teachings:

Mark 7:7-10 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…

He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. For Moses said…

Was Y’shua (Jesus) teaching “bondage” in His ministry by using the Law of Moses as a foundation? No, of course not. He loved His Fathers ways!

Can we use the Torah of God (Law of God, as written by Moses) to correct, rebuke and instruction in righteousness? Of course we can, as long as we still consider the first five books of the Bible as Scripture:

ALL (not some) scripture is given by inspiration of God.

ALL (not some) scripture is profitable for doctrine.

ALL (not some) scripture is for rebuking and correction

ALL (not some) scripture is for INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS..

There was no Matthew, Mark, Luke, Luke, John, Acts, Romans etc at the time 2 Timothy was written!

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Therefore, Paul was not teaching against the Law of God but commandments and doctrines of men. The Circumcision Party demanded Galatians to be circumcised a certain way for justification to gain salvation. We are to not be circumcised for salvation, but as a response to our salvation. There is a difference between those motives, and that is what Paul was trying to teach.

Circumcision for justification through God’s Law profits us nothing. We can only receive salvation through the finished work on the cross (Gal 5:2). If we were to try to achieve salvation by circumcision, then we must keep the whole Law perfectly as well (Gal 5:3). This is not possible, which is why we need grace (Gal 5:4), through faith (Gal 5:5).

However, do we make void God’s Law because of faith? God forbid!

Ro 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Ro 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Ro 7:22 For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man:

Ro 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the “law of sin” which is in my members.

Y’shua (Jesus) even said:
Mt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I do not come to destroy, but to fulfill (with meaning).

Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all (law and prophets) be fulfilled.

Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Y’shua (Jesus) stated that not one of God’s commandments was to be “abolished” or “put an end to” until all of the Law and Prophets are fulfilled and Heaven and earth pass away.

Heaven and earth passing away and being made new is the last prophetic event foretold in scripture. Isaiah 65:17 “Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be

remembered, nor will they come to mind.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away….

Please note that this event has clearly not yet happened.

Y’shua (Jesus) states that all of God’s Law will exist at LEAST UNTIL the day that the Lord states:

Revelation 21:5-6 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

Christ’s work on the cross for our salvation is finished (John 19:30), but the Lord is not yet finished with what has been said in all of His Law and Prophets until He says, “It is done.” This statement is signaled by the new Heaven and New Earth.

If this scripture is true, then what scriptural gymnastics do some teachers employ to avoid such a conclusion?

Well, if they touch the verse at all, it creates quite an embarrassing mess. When did Paul replace Messiah? Why do some hold fast on misconstrued fragments of the epistles, esp those written by Paul, instead of the instructions of Yehoveh? Ask yourself this question and see if that is in fact what you have done.

Some teach that in Matthew 5:17, “fulfill” means “to put and end to” or to “finish.” This is done (by their own admission) to avoid the clear teaching of Jesus that not one of God’s commandments are to pass away from the law. This also serves to preserve their misinterpretations of Paul’s letters.

If this interpretation is indeed true, we should be able to apply such teaching to scripture, and it should make logical sense as God is not the author of confusion. We are commanded to test all things and only hold on to what is good (1 Thes. 5:20) Let’s test the teaching that “fulfill” means “to put and end to” or “finish”.

Can “fulfill” in Mt 5:17 mean “to put an end to?
Mt 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I do not come to destroy (the law), but to “put and end (to the law”)

Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all (law and prophets) be fulfilled.

Double huh?

Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments (that I just put an end to), and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them (even though I put an end to them), the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Triple huh?

There are only two possible interpretations of “fulfill” in Matthew 5:17.

1) One is that Y’shua (Jesus) came to “fulfill the real meaning of God’s law” which the Pharisees polluted through their oral law. This makes sense because anytime Y’shua (Jesus) was around the Pharisees, this was precisely the point and purpose of all of His teachings. Y’shua was the walking Torah taught us how to correctly walk the way God wants us to walk in His law, and not the way men want us to walk in God’s law.

2) The second is that “fulfill” in Matthew 5:17 means to “complete, finish, or put an end to.” All one has to do is insert that definition into the context of the scripture to witness how such an interpretation is illogical and absurd.

A literal rendering of the Greek, technically accepts either interpretation.

G4137 pleroo play-ro’-o from G4134;

to make replete, i.e. (literally) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.:–accomplish, X after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfil, (be, make) full(come), fully preach, perfect, supply. (Strong’s)

The only interpretation of “fulfill” that fits the context and avoids logical absurdities is the one in which Jesus is teaching that He will make full or fully preach God’s law.

Y’shua (Jesus) came to fully preach and teach us the full meaning of God’s law.

The Galatians made the mistake of applying the false doctrine which taught that they must be circumcised for salvation. This is legalism, not simple obedience.

1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

We know that they were incorrectly using the “law of God” lawfully, but incorrectly.

We are to keep the Law of God to express our love back to Him, not to try to earn salvation

John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

John 14:23-24 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.”

John 15:10 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”

1 John 2:4-5 “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”

1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

2nd John 1:6 “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.”

We are to be obedient to the Law of God because of our salvation not for our salvation. 1Jn 4:19 We love him (obedience), because he first loved us (grace).
Obedience is simply the evidence of our faith (James 2:26).

Paul was simply trying to bring the Galatians back into God’s grace through faith and teach against the error of using the Law of God for salvation. Nowhere in all of Galatians does Paul teach that we should not keep the Law of God in obedience. If he did, he would be contradicting himself, Y’shua (Jesus), and countless other verses in Scripture.

This isn’t a little matter, by no means. This is important. Yeshua said that there would MANY who come to him on that day and say, Lord, Lord, Have we not done miracles in your name. TO which He says, depart from me, you practice LAWLESSLESS (TorahLESSNESS) We have become skilled at disobeying the instructions of our Father to serve to the god of our stomachs, the god of carnality, the god of rebellion.  I pray that if you are reading this, that you pray and ask to be shown truth.

Last fall on a common day during the week, I got to work early and walked the hall of the  law office I am employed at and with my small bible in hand, I prayed. This was not an uncommon practice, but something about this day was different. I began asking Yehoveh to allow justice to be found here, praying for attorney’s, praying against attitudes that raise up and so on. I turned to the Psalms and began reading from Psalm 119-and while reading this passage, something was stirring in me. Something in me woke up. A few of my favorite scriptures in this passage are;

I proclaim with my mouth all the rulings you have spoken. 14 I rejoice in the way of your instruction more than in any kind of wealth. 15 I will meditate on your precepts and keep my eyes on your ways. 16 I will find my delight in your regulations. I will not forget your word. 17 Deal generously with your servant; then I will live and observe your word. 18 Open my eyes, so that I will see wonders from your Torah. 19 Though I’m just a wanderer on the earth, don’t hide your mitzvot (commands) from me. 20 I am continually consumed with longing for your rulings. 21 You rebuke the proud, the cursed, who stray from your mitzvot. 22 Remove scorn and contempt from me, because I observe your instruction. 23 Even when princes sit and plot against me, your servant meditates on your laws. 24 Also your instructions are my delight; they are my counselors. 25 I lie prostrate in the dust; revive me, in keeping with your word. 26 I told you of my ways, and you answered me; teach me your laws. 27 Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wonders…….33  Teach me, ADONAI, the way of your laws; keeping them will be its own reward for me. 34 Give me understanding; then I will keep your Torah; I will observe it with all my heart. 35 Guide me on the path of your mitzvot, for I take pleasure in it. 36 Bend my heart toward your instructions and not toward selfish gain. 37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; with your ways, give me life.

Can I ask a question? When did the law of the Lord become such a detestable thing to the western church? I want to vomit when I hear comments like: “oh you gotta watch that old testament stuff, it can lead to legalism” – from “well-meaning” Christians. When did we have such a terrible experience with obedience that we speak so harshly against it?

How did the character of the  most Holy God somehow change over a few centuries??? — oh wait….. it did not. I am seeing that the message of grace has evolved into a message of anything goes, as long as your heart doe not condemn you. In other words, people have begun to define sin according to their own ideas instead of allowing scripture to tell us what sin is. We teach that everything is permissible as long as you are “being led” by the spirit… Somehow the main stream teaching being taught in this day is anything but truth of Yehoveh.

The real issue is this; people who call themselves “Christians” are not devoting themselves to studying the scriptures. We want to be fed by other people’s emotional experience, or be inspired by a sermon. We’ve been bewitched into thinking if we have received wealth, speak in tongues enough, heal people that is a sign of being led by the spirit. Interesting that Yeshua spoke about many of these people, “Many will say to me Lord, didn’t we heal, cast out devils…I will answer them, depart from me you workers of LAWLESSNESS, I never knew you”

Until this last year, I was guilty of doing those same things. I am not trying to point the finger, I am heading straight to the front of the line, saying I am the guiltiest. I sat in church week after week, and so dissatisfied, thinking in my heart, there has got to be more to this. This can’t be all Yeshua died for. To hear pastors and people say “oh can you feel the GLORY of the Lord?! He is in this place” and here’s Kim thinking, “no He isn’t…we would be on our faces if anything of God fell on us”

I know Him, I know Yeshua, but it was after this year, when I committed myself to the study of the Torah, that I began to know and see Yehoveh God, El Elyon – the Most High God. I fell in love…I mean IN L-O-V-E…and even fearful. Something I’ve not really experienced before.

I have had times of mourning, repenting, being really mad at the state of the church to just being really humbled and also awed by this God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.. the God Israel. Wow, you want to be floored….read these accounts, see His patterns, His style. How can we say we love God, and know so little about Him? Even if this concept of throwing out the old testament as irrelevant were true, which it isn’t, shouldn’t we desire to know this Holy one we will be living in eternity with? I mean, there wont be any ham sandwiches at the marriage supper of the lamb, don’t you want to know why? When you meet the one your going to marry, don’t you want to know everything about him? Favorite color, favorite food, where they grew up, what sport they played in school….yet we meet Jesus and somehow take on this smug attitude of – well that was the old testament.. we aren’t under that anymore.. We aren’t under the law, because according to Yehoveh, we are  in this new covenant phase. Do you know where the scriptures say this? In Jeremiah 31 ….

33 For this is the covenant I will make with the house of  after those days,” says ADONAI: “I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, ‘Know ADONAI’; for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more.”

I love that. I know there are people who call this Shabbat keeping, Torah readings, candle lighting,  keeping of the festivals/feast, and observing new moons – legalistic of even cult-ish…and I am now in a place where my response is simply this, suite yourself. If you don’t call these things a delight, then don’t do it. For me and my family – I call it rich, I call it obedience. Doing these things in themselves is NOT  a means to salvation. This is where the church can’t seem to work  it out. I know 100% where my salvation is from. The blood of Yeshua, His perfect life, His death, that I should received. That is my salvation, only His blood, only Yeshua. Period – end of story – undebatable. No other way unto salvation…. in doing these things, is the act that I am born again. Being obedient is the result of my salvation from Yeshua, not doing these works as a way means unto salvation. Now I need to add, there are commands that Yehoveh gave to Mosses and said they are to be done forever. Not through that generation, not until Messiah comes, not until the enemy is cast in the lake of fire…forever, through eternity. This theme is found throughout as well. So if you want to go about and say; well this is done, and that is done away with…well you better be certain, in fact…BE CAREFUL – you could be calling God a liar. additionally, if you really believe that, you will be very dissatisfied during the millennial reign, according to scripture ALL will live according to the Lords commands and His Torah.

Another thing I learned that was revealing this, in the end days there will be many false prophets rise up among us. According to scripture. What is a false prophet? Think about your definition for a moment…..

Now how does scripture define one? I mean, if Yeshua said in the Olivet discourse about things to watch for in the end times. People seem to think Yeshua did not say we shouldn’t know – but in Matt 24 when his disciples asked what are the signs?  He goes on and gives us 50 scriptures of what to watch for.. He said false prophets will raise up and apostasy will rise up.

A false prophet is defined as someone who will tell you to not obey “Moses” in other words…the Torah. Anyone who comes to you and tells you that Moses or the Law are no longer valid is a false prophet. In Hebrews 10 the scripture states we are to put them to death. ***no I am not saying to murder someone***

Please allow scripture to interpret scripture, and not your own intellect. We are not as wise as we like to think we are. Yehoveh gave us the Holy Scriptures, and they are what Yeshua taught from, they are what the disciples learned from, they are what Timothy said in his second letter that “all scripture (meaning old testament) is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”

To the reader,I submit these things to you, I am not telling you I got this down, but one thing I can say – I am committed to study these things. Every day I am in the scriptures, every day asking the spirit to show me, correct me and show me if I am missing it. Are you? Or do you presume to know it all? I’ve discovered truths this year and has dislocated my theology (theology that was not truth) – truths that brought me to my knees in repentance, given me a foundation that is not rooted in “feelings, or experience” but in scripture.

What did Philip see in Yeshua that made him say to his brother, “we have found the one who Moses and the prophets told us about, the Messiah!” Up to that point in the gospels, Yeshua did not do 1 miracle, made no public declaration, no outward testament of being the anointed one…Allow scripture to define that one – it is there.

It pays to have a foundation, from the beginning – the scriptures are full of wonder and mystery. It is nothing short of miraculous, never gets old, never is boring. It is worth the journey.

Those who love your Torah have great peace; nothing makes them stumble….

Have you asked yourself, “why do we do this tradition year after” be it colors eggs, wrap presents, carve a pumpkin, cook a bird…. Why do we repeat these traditions year after year and I have yet to find a person who can tell me where these things began.

This week, while continuing in Torah, we read the story of the passover. You know it I’m sure, or at least heard of it? I’ll  briefly show you the text – then we’ll look at where we get Easter and Christmas.

First, Lets look at Moses and the great exodus from Egypt. Sh’Mot (Exodus) 12:5-20

Your animal must be without defect, a male in its first year, and you may choose it from either the sheep or the goats. 6 “‘You are to keep it until the fourteenth day of the month, and then the entire assembly of the community of Isra’el will slaughter it at dusk. 7 They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the two sides and top of the door-frame at the entrance of the house in which they eat it. 8 That night, they are to eat the meat, roasted in the fire; they are to eat it with matzah and maror. 9 Don’t eat it raw or boiled, but roasted in the fire, with its head, the lower parts of its legs and its inner organs. 10 Let nothing of it remain till morning; if any of it does remain, burn it up completely. 11 “‘Here is how you are to eat it: with your belt fastened, your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand; and you are to eat it hurriedly. It is ADONAI’s Pesach [Passover]. 12 For that night, I will pass through the land of Egypt and kill all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both men and animals; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt; I am ADONAI. 13 The blood will serve you as a sign marking the houses where you are; when I see the blood, I will pass over [Hebrew: pasach] you – when I strike the land of Egypt, the death blow will not strike you. 14 “‘This will be a day for you to remember and celebrate as a festival to ADONAI; from generation to generation you are to celebrate it by a perpetual regulation. 15 “‘For seven days you are to eat matzah – on the first day remove the leaven from your houses. For whoever eats hametz [leavened bread] from the first to the seventh day is to be cut off from Isra’el. 16 On the first and seventh days, you are to have an assembly set aside for God. On these days no work is to be done, except what each must do to prepare his food; you may do only that. 17 You are to observe the festival of matzah, for on this very day I brought your divisions out of the land of Egypt. Therefore, you are to observe this day from generation to generation by a perpetual regulation. 18 From the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month until the evening of the twenty-first day, you are to eat matzah. 19 During those seven days, no leaven is to be found in your houses. Whoever eats food with hametz (leaven) in it is to be cut off from the community of Isra’el – it doesn’t matter whether he is a foreigner or a citizen of the land. 20 Eat nothing with hametz (leaven) in it. Wherever you live, eat matzah.’ verse 24: You are to observe this as a law, you and your descendants forever.

G-d gives us a specific, direct command about how we are to observe this event. Why aren’t we doing this? Why are we not obeying what our G-d told us to do? Yeshua did, where do you think we get communion? We observe that right? Yeshua said, as often as you do this, “think of me” do what? OBSERVE the PASSOVER with the unleavened bread and the wine….The night before Yeshua was crucified, they ate together on the a day that is called “the preparation day”  they observed passover together every year before, and the disciples observed it every year after. Where did we think or get the idea that it was OK to throw it out? Before you start the rhetoric that the passover was “the law” let me point out G-d didn’t give Moses “the law” until Exodus 20 this was “pre law” to do and observe forever…..not until Messiah, not until you think it’s outdated…forever means, forever. If we were not meant to observe this meal, Yeshua would have said, this is the last year you are to observe this tradition.. think about that.

This garbage about “legalism” has somehow been mistaken for obedience. I would say it goes without saying we are aware the only way we are considered righteous is through the price that Yeshua paid on the cross, our works will never get us in good standing with the Father. But when G-d says something is to be observed forever, I don’t think it’s a suggestion. So where do we get the eggs?

This ridiculous rabbit, where did all that start?Where does the word “Easter” come from?

In the bible we find a man named Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah’s son named Ham. Ham had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis. Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him “Nimrod.” After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King. (umm gross!!!)

The Bible tells of this man – Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: “And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.” Do a concordance search on Baal, you’ll see him pop up a lot in 1 & 2 Kings, and Ezekiel..

Pagan beliefs

Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon. Nimrod was eventually killed by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom.

Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found.

That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called “Baal”, the sun-god. Semiramis was creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, she set herself up as a goddess. She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28 day cycle and ovulate when full. Now this story continues and as it unfolds, it gets even more crazy..She claimed that she came down from the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River. This was to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox.Semiramis became known as “Ishtar” which is pronounced “Easter”, and her moon egg became known as “Ishtar’s” egg.” Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal (I swear I’m not making this up) that caused her to conceive. (immaculate conception?) The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz. So here we go with the mother and sun worship   Tammuz was noted to be especially fond of rabbits, and they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god, Baal. Tammuz, like his supposed father, became a hunter. Somewhere along the Tammuz was killed by a wild hog. The queen told her worshippers that when Tammuz was killed by the wild pig, some of his blood fell on the stump of an evergreen tree, and the stump grew into a full new tree overnight. This made the evergreen tree sacred by the blood of Tammuz. She also proclaimed a forty day period of time of sorrow each year prior to the anniversary of the death of Tammuz. During this time, no meat was to be eaten. Or you can forgo another pleasure you regularly  partake in. Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday. (Remember that a pig is not considered Kosher by the L-rd to eat in the old testament because the preferred method of killing them is strangulation) ) Worshippers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the “T” in front of their hearts as they worshipped. Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made. It was Ishtar’s Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs.

So what is the significance of eggs? There are several reasons for the use of eggs during this holiday. As stated earlier Ishtar came down from the moon goddess in an egg. Also, she was considered a goddess of  war, love and fertility, which is what the egg symbolizes. Lastly, which is the worst in my opinion, involves children sacrifices. In the Babylonian culture eggs were dipped in the blood of children who were sacrificed to Ishtar. Today, we decorate eggs without knowing the significance of it. We teach our children to do the same so they can teach their children. We do this in ignorance without knowing we are teaching them the Babylonian ways. The scriptures tell us not to let ourselves be deceived so that we turn aside from the L-rd to serve and worship other gods. We are to follow his rules and regulations and teach our children to do the same. I know we like to think that we can everything and God just smiles and says, oh they are covered by the blood of my son… and in ignorance I believe we are, but wouldn’t satan love to make us believe we can do these things year after year with no consequences to our actions once we know?

I know I titled this Easter and Christmas, so consider this part 1 – Christmas is another pagan practice all in it’s own..

But I will ask you this, will you color eggs and continue to lie to your children about these things? Or will you observe the passover?

As for me and my house? I am doing what G-d says to do.

Continuing in Torah ~

If you’ve read my previous blog you may be aware that at the beginning of 2012, my husband and I prayerfully searched for a bible study to begin. We did not have any leading to any “group” studies, and nothing really jumped out to us while at the local bookstore. As we continued to search the one thing I walked away with was, start at the beginning. So that is what we have done. Every night my husband and I study “Torah” We found a online interdisciplinary study that is a go at your own pace class. Each “weekly” study is broken into a chapter, sometimes two, starting with Genesis 1 – that was five weeks ago and we are almost finished with Genesis. I wish I could adequately put into words the discovery of what is being revealed.  I will attempt to be concise as I find my words to summarize the book of Genesis thus far.

Most of us, if we’ve been in the church for any amount of time we have heard about Adam and Eve, Noah, and Abraham. But to study the pages of the history, of the beginning of My Father with mankind, is thrilling for sure, but it also leaves me with questions. The biggest one is one that David also wrote in the Psalms, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? I mean, seriously – who are we that God, Adonai Elohim – maker of the universe – desires to be in relationship with mankind….think about that for a minute… We CAN KNOW HIM… does that not just blow your mind?!

In Genesis we see creation, creation of all things; universe, sun, moon, planets, earth and then man. We see the tenderness that God puts into making man, and then the fall. We see early on that man waste no time in corrupting himself. We see how God begins to establish types and shadows – patterns.

In the last 5 weeks the things that have been established the promise of God establishing Israel as a nation, and out of Avramham many nations would come from him. ENTER; B’rit – covenant.  Have you noticed that when God was making this covenant all the conditions were on Him? The God who cannot lie, the God who makes good on all His promises. He sets rules and the one who holds the responsibility for covenant is Himself. In Genesis 12 we begin to see this pattern of dividing, separating, and election that will repeat itself again and again throughout scripture and my own life bears witness to this pattern. This separation is central in the teaching of Yeshua – and it must occur in one form or another in our life.

The other thing we see is, if you’ve ever read the bible at all, is LINEAGE / bloodlines. So and so begot so and so, and he begot so and so and he begot hard name and so and so and on and on… All those names that we cannot pronounce are in there for a reason and I am beginning to understand why it is. Not to the point I can to express it now, but it is incredible to see the purpose of why it is there.

There is more, but I just wanted to give a brief description of Torah so far. The best thing is what it is doing for Corey and I. We do this study every night. We are still early in our marriage and early in this study and the effect it has had on us so far I can sum it up in one word is this; FOUNDATION. What a great one it is.

Shalom – Shav’a Tov!

(peaceful good week)

Babylon –

Last year I was a part of a study in the book of Daniel, done by Beth Moore. A 12 week class that was nothing short of amazing. In one of the early sessions a woman wrote a poem about Babylon, (written by a woman named Lynn Parker ) Beth read it at the beginning of session 4 or 6
Babylon was the place that Daniel and much of Israel was taken captive to. I did not know much, if anything about this mysterious place until last year. What surprised me the most was Babylon wasn’t so much a place as it is a mindset. All about me, myself and I. In fact a scripture in Isaiah nails it; “I am and there is none beside me.” (Is 47:10)
Keep that in mind as you read through the verses of this poem; sounds similar to our own culture does it not?

Babble on in Babylon

Brimming closets, shoe racks bulge, one in every color, I’ll just indulge.
My wildest whim will oft be met, bigger, faster, give me, get.
Travel on in Babylon.May I go first? Knew you’d not care, for my time’s precious. You’ve lots to spare.
I’ll slip in front and off I’ll go. See, I’m quite fast and well, you’re quite slow.
I and me fast friends, life-long.
Prattle on in Babylon.

Nip it here, just there a lift. I just turned forty, it was a gift.
The eyes, the lips, the bosoms do, sculptured, lasered, injected, too.
No wrinkles left, the tummy’s gone.
Journey on in Babylon.

Enough of me, how do you view me?
You get one, but give me three.
I couldn’t bare to just say no, it’s my desire and rightly so.
Add another and on and on.
Shuffle on in Babylon.

No end in sight that I can see, today is blocked by the mirror in front of me.
A wreck, a death, tsunami tide, it mildly stirs me, I must confide.
TV claims tens of thousands gone.
Oh well, let’s see what else is on.
Numb to the stunning sight of each new dawn,
Sinking fast in Babylon.

Like a lobster in a pot who begins to like the water hot,
I’ve been duped, been tricked, been had, convinced that truth was somehow bad.
Evil, coddled and cooed and purred, and beckoned me and called and lured.
Now in a place with the lights turned on, I’m racing home from Babylon.
I’m racing home from Babylon

Start At The Beginning

I am very excited to begin this blog. This will be an on-going writing, one I hope will at least chronicle a year. This is a journey of faith, of discovery, a tribute to Adonai and His workmanship.
Let’s start at the beginning.

I really can’t recall the exact moment, but at some time I fell in love with Israel. I knew nothing about Israel, except it was in the bible, and G-d seemed to like it and the people  were special. Then in the late 90′ till 2002 I was very involved in Womens Aglow. Those women had such a zeal and love for G-d and in that, they also prayed for the peace of Jerusalem, they too had a love for Israel and the Jewish people. One day a women who was the guest speaker, Diane something, while speaking she would say Jesus’ name, but only she would say it “YESHUA HAMASHIACH” I thinking;! I fell in love at that moment, thinking, there is a mystery here that goes deeper than language. I wanted to know more about this. I wanted to know more about the G-d of Israel. However, this G-d of Israel is not being readily taught at most churches. I do remember my former pastor, Bryan Ashpole, asking a Messianic congregation to come and explain the Seder meal with us at passover one year, and even now as I write this, I have tears in my eyes over that memory. It impacted me then even though I did not understand everything. I was deeply moved in sharing that; learning about the bitter herbs, the bread, and how a bible story became so much more. I once again fell in love the art of oral story telling, to see, hear and taste how Adonai Tz’evaot (LORD of Host) delivered the Hebrew slaves and brought them out of Egypt. All these memories I have in my heart were one brick upon another to lay a foundation.
If you do not know me, I will tell you, I am not a scholar, nor was I ever an A student, so independent study has never come easy to me. But last year, a friend invited me to do a study in the book of Daniel, by Beth Moore. You know a light – easy to understand book. I remember praying and seeking the L-rd asking “is this something I should do? Or would I be setting myself up to fail?” I did not hear a “go” and I did not hear a “no” He just seemed to leave that up me. So I committed myself to the 12 week class. Did I also mention that I have never had an understanding of biblical prophecy? Never even heard the word eschatology? The first week of that study Beth challenged her audience to 1) commit yourself to learn, and 2) fast something, food, chocolate, just something, for a a couple of weeks. I committed myself to learn, to do the homework faithfully, and the fasting part? Well without really knowing it, my husband and I gave TV for a week, that turned into two, that turned to 5 months to date. To be honest, I think that was a gift from G-d to separate us for something better. Now we do watch football, and news and a movie here and there. But overall that box is off. That in itself was really a great turning point.

The Daniel study was incredible. I learned more about the word of G-d than I ever expected to learn. I learned how the Bible all fits together, it is all connected and there is real continuity throughout. I know that is a revelation to many but for me, I just never saw it like that. So upon completing the Daniel study at the end of November, December came along and with all the distractions that month carries with it. All I wanted to know is; what’s next L-rd? What do I study next? We prayed about this, as my husband (Corey) and I wanted to study something together. Often I would Google certain phrases of words I came across looking for information. Words like, Torah, Messianic Jews, Hebrew writings just would not let me alone. I wanted to know, what exactly is “Torah” I knew it had something to do with the old testament, I just wasn’t sure what exactly. I came across a website that offered free Torah classes. I asked the L-rd in prayer, is this what you would have me do? It was like He said in the quietness of my spirit, “start at the beginning” I thought, well that just makes sense.

If I were to give someone a Bible, I would not say here is the greatest book you will ever read, it will change your life, give you hope, and if you live by it – you will never be the same; now start in the middle. What kind of sense does that make? We don’t do that with a novel do we? So Corey and I looked into this online free Torah class, we read the “what we believe – who we are” to make sure they weren’t some strange cult. It seemed good to us, we decided to start at the beginning. L-rd, teach us your Torah.
That was less than one month ago, and every night, after the kids go to bed, we get out our note books, our Bible, we listen, talk about passages, and we just marvel at what we seeing, with our own eyes, we have seen Him.
Thus far the thing that surprises me most is the reaction of other people when we tell them. The thing I’ve heard the most is, well just be careful – we are not “under the law” or “be careful of legalism” – I am somewhat thrown off by these statements. Especially when they come from “Christians” – I am asking now, what do you mean by this? What is the “the law” I think I can safely estimate that most people can not even say what the “law” is. They might say its the 10 commandments, or circumcision, animal sacrifices. The thing I am seeing is this, Yeshua fulfilled the law, we are made righteous by His blood only. He completed all that the Father asked Him to do. BUT, when G-d says, something is to be done, FOREVER, or this thing is to be observed FOREVER we need to take notice that. I am seeing how the westernized church has done a lot to remove us as far from the Jewish culture as possible. Much of our “tradition” comes from pagan practices. Even calling “Sunday” holy as a day of worship comes from the pagan practice of worshiping their god the sun, It was Constantine who declared people to worship on “the day of the sun”. (for more on this matter, see the Council of Laodicca, the 29 cannon 364 AD) Even in the redacting the very name of G-d from our translations. Have you ever read the front portion of your bible? The part where they talk about how that particular version was translated? I did, and I noticed that over six thousand times they altered the names of G-d, the attributes of Hashem, to either one of two names; LORD (in all caps) or Lord (capitol L and lower case letters) they do this so we wont be confused?
So less than 4 weeks into this study of Torah, and I am in love all over again. There is a revealing of Adonai, of Yud-He-Vav-He, and I am seeing Him with new eyes and I will never be the same. If you have ever wondered about the G-d of Israel, or felt like there was more to know, can I encourage you start at the beginning? Be cautious (actually RUN from) anything that has taught you to hate the Jews, any teaching that marginalizes them as a people or tells you to see them as an enemy.

I am going to keep updating this blog and write what I discover. I think in order to understand the times to come, it is going to be critical to know what was written in it’s context, what are the promises of the L-RD to Israel? Why is land important? Has all the 12 tribes been returned to the appropriated land of Israel? What is Ezekiel 36, and 37 about? How does it all fit? I assure you, it does. But like treasures, we must be willing to search for it as we search for anything of value.

Joshua 1:8-10

Yes, keep this book of the Torah on your lips, and meditate on it day and night, so that you will take care to act according to everything written in it. Then your undertakings will prosper, and you will succeed.  Haven’t I ordered you, ‘Be strong, be bold’? So don’t be afraid or downhearted, because ADONAI your God is with you wherever you go.”

January 2nd 2012

When I was a little girl, I would think that sometime in my lifetime I might see the year 2000 – and thought it sounded something like a science fiction film. Now I find myself in 2012 and all the thoughts I had as a child are nothing like the realities of this time. No flying cars; yet, no transporting through air. Sure, advances in science and information have done incredible things. Yet even in our our rapid advancement of technology it has not made us any better of people. In fact, it has really separated us from each other in so many ways.

In considering the events that happened over the last calendar year I am astonished at the all the catastrophes that took place. This was a record-setting year, not in a Lady Gaga sense – those things are the distractions that lulls the world away from the realities of life. Entertainment, celebrities, gossip,  music, fashion, money, designer labels and TV are a simply used to beguile people into a conscience slumber of living. – But that is another subject for another time.

I want to take a look at a natural disasters, and unexplained occurences that happened this year. Check out these video’s then compare the data with the links I’ve enclosed throughout, I think it says a lot.

225 tornadoes in a 24 hour period in Tuscaloosa alone in April of last year.

There were 1,836 tornadoes reported in the US alone – worldwide, at least 576 people perished due to tornadoes: 12 in Bangladesh, two in South Africa, one in New Zealand, one in the Philippines, one in Russia, one in Canada and an estimated 552 in the United States (compared to 564 US deaths in the prior ten years combined) – with six EF5 tornadoes and nearly enough total tornado reports to eclipse the mark of 1,817 tornadoes recorded in 2004

Chile had an earth quake that knocked the earth off it’s axis by 4 inches – Japan had a 9. earthquake that leaves that nation hanging on a brink of ruin even now. All together there were 2340 earthquakes world-wide. That is only accounting the ones that measured over 5.0 total deaths = 16,947

Earthquake stats

Flooding that has left over a million people without homes, dust clouds that covered a city – at least twice this last year, solar flares, comets and the phenomena of ...

Dead animals;

January 1 2011 hundreds of birds fall dead from the sky in Beebe Arkansas and that was just the beginning for the year. Over 1000 turtle doves fell out of the sky in Italy. Thousands of dead fish washed ashore in California, hundreds of octopus wash shore in Brazil, whales  in the hundreds found dead on the beaches all over the world at various time in 2011. Locals south of Rockhampton report 5,000 to 7,000 dead fish covering 11 different species.  This is only to name a few of these strange happenings of the unexplained animal fatalities. Here is a list of  other cases

Hosea 4 ~

There is no faithfulness, no love,
no acknowledgment of God in the land.
2 There is only cursing, lying and murder,
   stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
   and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Because of this the land dries up,
   and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
and the fish in the sea are swept away.

This is to point out that the earth is groaning, waiting for the sons of God to be revealed.  Read further and draw your own conclusions.

Isaiah 24 & Luke 21:5-28

We can’t sit back and pretend that this is just normal and disasters just happen. These things happen to get our attention, to bring us to God, to repent, to do justice and to live right in His sight – follow Jesus and do good to each other.

Have you ever heard a sermon, and you just knew that it was right on point? If you did, how did you know it was truth? A few months ago my husband and I  discovered  and also found out that youtube had sermons on there from preachers I had either never heard preach before, or never heard at all. To name a few of my recent favorites and highly recommend are; David Wilkerson, Keith Daniel, Carter Conlon, Art Katz, Paul Washer, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Francis Chan, and the two young men that put together the homemade documentary The Sycamore of 9/11 – Elliot Nesch and Raymond Schwab.  I have heard some sermons that have made me think, convicted me deeply, had me on my knees in repentance, kept me awake many nights, shaken my foundational beliefs from past teachings and has even changed the way I approach reading the word of God.

Back in the 80’s and early 90’s I would watch Christian television, and more than once there were men on they’re preaching about money and the prosperity gospel. But something about it seemed contrary to the gospels I was reading. According to them, if you were poor you were in not in the will of God, if you wanted a BMW, well you just sew a seed (give them money) and claim that car! Needless to say I felt I must not have enough faith, because I was still poor driving a 1975 Pinto! Well in 1988 my mother in law died of brain cancer; I guess I didn’t believe God enough when I prayed, because even though she prayed and asked Christ into her life, to forgive her sins, she still died. Even when we sent in our seed of faith believe God could do a healing and provide an increase. Even though I was reading out of the same bible they were, but mine said things like, be content with food and clothes, God provides all your needs, and the treasures you store up will be in heaven, a mans life does not consist in a mans abundance of his possessions, that wasn’t always being preached. I mean, I was under the impression that God Himself was the reward, but according to many “famous” preachers, there was more to be had. Over the years I would go to churches to find similar oddities that seemed strange to me. Rumors of gold dust appearing on people’s hands, people laughing rolling around on the floor for hours, even the pastor! Too many more weird manifestations to mention.

What is the obsession with wealth? Or with bigger buildings and increased numbers? Like my current pastor said, a Pastor is deemed a failure when there is no “church growth” – when did we become a people who deems a man a failure or a success based on attendance, money, buildings, or how many books you can sell? What is going on with the church in America? Have you asked yourself this?

If you are a Christian reading this, can you look me in the eye and tell me that you have read the word of God and lined it up with a vast majority of the churches in America and say they are on point?

The prosperity, feel good messages that begins with a “cute story” that makes you laugh, then teaches you a message on how to be more successful, to be smarter, how to advance in your career or your own ministry. There is not one word of repentance no mention on the fear of God and His holiness, no mention of denying yourself,  caring more for others more than yourself, killing the ego of man or taking on the cloak of humilty…. What happened to the these messages?

How is it that historically we have been the wealthiest nation in the world and we still have millions of homeless families on the streets, a foster care system that is overwhelmed with abused, neglected children and a social security system that will be bankrupt on 30 years, thereby making the elderly, and the orphan the most preyed upon vulnerable people in our society…and the church is concerned with “how do WE increase in numbers? How to claim Gods wealth for your life…

When I was taking a hard look at these realities, I thought, ya know whenever the church has moved or been forced to go underground in secret, it advanced in numbers like wildfire. You couldn’t stop it. Then consider our enemy, it was like I could hear satan himself saying, OK the killing and poverty against the church is not working. How can we stop real gospel from advancing? I know, Let’s lavish them in abundance, lets tell them, this is the will of God for your life, let’s get their eyes off the gospel and on to themselves, lets move the pastors that are lukewarm but charismatic to tell them God wants the best career for them, the biggest houses so they will become slaves to their debt and then in that endless cycle of working to pay things off just to keep up with the other people sitting next to them in the plush velvet pews. Lets make the bible a formula for means of getting rich and doing nothing but spend that wealth on themselves. Anything to take their eyes off the needy, and the sick, lets put their kids in daycares and break the bonds of family, let’s tell the people that God loves them how they are, He isn’t mad about their life, grace is enough, God is love…Are you seeing this church?  Keith Daniel calls them “liberal theologians” they will have the blood of the people on their hands!

What happened to the church in America?

When did the world creep in and take over the church? How did this happen? Overnight? No way, one compromise at a time. We took our eyes off Christ and placed them on us. We became offended when preachers began to call us out on our sin and we “left that church” we’re not going to let anyone tell us what to do. We stopped being accountable and stopped allowing anyone to speak into our life.

Please understand I know there have been terrible atrocities that have been done in the name of God. I am not forgetful or ignorant of those facts. If for some reason your reading this and you have been wounded, can I tell you in utmost sincerity, that I am so sorry for your hurt. I really am. Man will screw up almost anything he/she puts their hands on. But if you have been hurt by reading the word of God well…me to! It is supposed to break us. Some things, many things in that book are not easy to read. It’s difficult. But please don’t stop reading it. Do not try to bring God down to your humanistic ability to reason or your logic or morality. The God who made the heavens, and the earth, who threw the stars in the galaxies and told them to stay put, and drew a boundary in the sand and told the waves you will only got his far unless I say otherwise…perhaps He knows more than we do. I personally believe we just stopped reading Gods word, because it became offensive or outdated in this age of “awakening” and enlightment.

It makes no sense to me why we have not followed the basic instructions of what His word tell us to do. James 1:19 and 27 say it like this Do not merely listen to word, and so deceive yourself, DO WHAT IT SAYS …27) pure and undefiled religion is this, look after the widow and the orphan in their time of need and keep yourself unspotted from the world”

I have never came across a scripture that said build churches so big it’s impossible to disciple anyone, or have you read a passage that maybe I missed that said,  go ye out into the world carrying posters of mutilated babies stand outside abortion clinics and scream hateful slurs at the women going inside? Did I miss the promise of worldly acceptance and prosperity? What gospel was that in? First or second Babylonias? Where does it say that the gates of hell would not prevail against the NYT best sellers, man-made synagogues or churching the “un-churched” When did Christianity become such a lucrative industry? When did we become obsessed about reading books about other people and their “experiences” instead of staying true and studying the infallible word of God?

What happened to the church in America?

So much of my anger is centered this money teaching. Has anyone read the warnings that Jesus talked about repeatedly  concerning money and misuse of it? The love of it? Or in 2 Timothy 6: 3-10

If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions  and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith  and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Judgment has already begun in America, and it is starting in the house of God. I believe the Lord will begin to deal with these ministers, pastors, and priest about their sin. If they don’t repent and get right, He will be forced to expose it to everyone. I think this will be done to those who are truly His but not in obedience to His calling. But this “church” that is over populated and more motivational and inspiring instead of convicting and truthful will continue. In the book of Jeremiah God is speaking with Jeremiah, and He says this; An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?  Jeremiah 5:30-31

Or consider this this passage from 2 Timothy 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them…. emphasis mine

Do you find it strange that the last verse said having a “form” of godliness but denying it’s power? Does anything preceding that statement even sound like it would be associated with the Christian way of life at all? Where would we find such behavior? Surely not in the church?

Can I urge you in all love and humility, if you are caught up in some church that is only speaking to your dreams, your money, your career, even your ministry RUN FROM IT!!! Please, run for the sake of your own soul. This is not a gospel from God, it is a doctrine of demons. What is the gospel? Feed the hungry, give those are thirsty a drink, visit those in prison, do good to the orphans. Give your life away to the cause of Christ. Not with an agenda, I am not talking about working your way into heaven; that is legalism, no man can do enough good deeds for that. Even if you ended world poverty, if you are not following Jesus Christ your on your way to eternal hell. There are some churches even telling people there is no hell. People, read the word, ask God for truth. Seek Him with all your soul. If you decide to serve God, and it must be a decision that you’ve given thought to,, consider the cost, and become a follower of Christ. But know this, your life is no longer your own. In the words of Francis Chan, “You can not live for the American dream and add Christ to it, you will lose everything”

Church in America, your time is come. Judgment is at the very door…..
